The Pazhassirajah Museum is located at a distance of 5 km from Kozhikode town and is known for its numismatology collection, its bronze sculptures, the ancient paintings, fragments of the famous Kerala murals and miniature models of temples.
The Art Gallery near the Pazhassirajah Museum houses original oil paintings of the celebrated maestro Raja Ravi Varma and his brother Raja Raja Varma.
Krishna Menon Museum is also a museum but this has been built exclusively to house the personal belongings and souvenirs of the former president of India, late V K Krishna Menon.
Beypore Harbor is about 10 km to the south of Kozhikode City and stands on the banks of the Chaliyar River. This harbor is famed for the highly skilled boat builders living there.
The shipwrights and constructors of this port have claimed international acclaim and have been employed for over 1500 years by India and foreign countries as well to build sturdy, unsinkable vessels.
The Kappad Beach (16 km from Kozhikode City) well known for it is here that the renowned explorer Vasco Da Gama entered India (27th May 1498).
On the beach a memorial has been erected to mark this historic event. The Ettumanoor Shiva Temple is a celebrated16th century shrine and attracts devotees and tourists round the year.
Also in the region is Korapuzha which hosts Korapuzha Jalotsavam a festival marked by water sports and adventurous activities.
